...to the webside of "Aarhus Jazzklub"

Mr. Jorn Okbo, president

The Aarhus Jazzclub is located in the second largest and most beautifull city of Aarhus in the tiny fairytale country named  Denmark. We are in the bottom part of Scandinavia.

On the map we are the funny little delightfull thing sticking up above Germany, also known as Deutchland.

The City of Aarhus is located under the "nose" on the eastcoast of the mainland "Jylland" (english"Jutland")The city is fringed by a forrest to the north and south, and water to the east. The harbor has the biggest container terminal in northern Europe. Right in the old part of the city you’ll find the longest Cathedral in Denmark, (100 metres) The church was build in the year 1100. The Jazzclub is very conveniently located 200 metres from the tallest holy building in town.

The City population is 300.000 citizens. The inhabitants are fairly easy going, and the University and other educatinal institutions provides no less than 30.000 students to the approximately 100 cafees, fancy coffeshops and discotecs. So you will meet joyfull drinking happy-go-lucky patrons all week, around the clock all year.

The downtown area offers a variety of entertainment for your pleasure and enjoyment. Two jazzclubs and a couple of bluesplaces attract mostly a more mature audience. You wil also find a variety of theaters, museums, artgalleries and very attractive shoppingfacilities.

Aarhus Jazzclub features New Orleans Jazz on selected saturdays from late September till the last Friday in April.
Showtime 12-4 pm. The concerts are held the cozy "Hos Anders"
bar and restaurant downtown Aarhus. A 5 minut walk from the Cathedral

Aarhus Jazzclub seats and attracts an audience of up to one hundred jazzfans most saturdays at lunchtime during the season. The atmosphere is rather intimate and informal. So come as you are.

During the second week of july, the city puts on the "Aarhus International Jazzfestival" . It features internationally known jazz artists, as well as the finest musicians from the highly acclaimed Danish jazzcapital of Copenhagen, and naturally the very best of local talents. In all approximately 125 concerts during the week on a number of venues.

Finally, and in the name of hospitality, you will always be welcomed as a visitor to our jazzclub. The doors are open to everybody that loves jazz, - and other fine people.
